Our Storey

Our story begins with  Storey.

Before the garden. Before the grove.

There was Cain's grandfather, Storey Porter - who instilled a love of family and agriculture.

The Christmas tree farm brings together all we hold dear - faith, family tradition, and stewardship of the land.  We are proud to be the next generation stewarding the Storey land.

Our Mission & Values

Faith

The Christmas tree and the cross both point to the same story — light overcoming darkness, life overcoming death. They stand as bookends to Jesus’s earthly life.

The Christmas tree (a tree that is alive) celebrates the arrival of the Light of the World. The wooden cross (a tree that has given its life to a purpose) is the symbol of His sacrifice and resurrection.

Perhaps that is why the Christmas tree resonates so deeply with us. It is more than decoration or tradition. It quietly points us toward life, light, hope, and the promise of eternity.

Our Christmas tree farm is an earthly place where we hope people experience a glimpse of joy, light, peace, and the hope of eternity.

Legacy

We believe traditions do more than create memories — they shape people and create legacy. That’s why we thoughtfully craft spaces and experiences where traditions can take root and grow.

The moments families return to year after year become part of their story. They reflect what a family values, celebrates, and chooses to pass down to the next generation.

To us, the tradition itself is not the most important part. What matters most is how shared experiences cultivate belonging, gratitude, connection, and identity over time. These moments become the threads that weave together a family’s legacy for generations to come.

We are honored to create a place where those memories can grow into lasting legacy.

Stewardship

We believe nothing we have truly belongs to us. Our role is simply to steward well the land, resources, and opportunities we have been given so they can flourish for the next generation.

That belief shapes how we care for this farm. Christmas tree farms naturally contribute to cleaner air, wildlife habitat, and healthy green spaces, and we strive to work in harmony with the land rather than against it.

At The Storey Garden & Grove, our agricultural practices and daily decisions are guided by sustainability, responsibility, and respect for creation. We rely on natural rainfall rather than irrigation, and we do not spray our trees to artificially enhance their color. While deer may damage or claim some of our trees each year, we see that as part of sharing this land with the wildlife around us.

To us, stewardship means caring for the land in a way that preserves its beauty, health, and purpose for generations to come.
